Five minutes ago, I was lying in bed – just surfacing from sleep. I had no idea what time it was, but I was feeling bummed that I’d have to get up any minute to go to work when I suddenly realized that it’s SATURDAY and it’s SUNNY and I bounded out of bed, even though it’s only 6:30 and I don’t even get up that early on a week day. Isn’t it funny how that works?
I’m actually very tired, owing to the fact that I didn’t turn out the lights last night until midnight, but I’m so excited to actually be able to devote some time today to getting the house back in order (and maybe doing a project) after two weeks of ignoring it all. Up on deck for today is cleaning out our garage and I’m actually excited for it!
I keep thinking about that Shel Silverstein poem called “Saturday”: “What? What’s that you say? You say today is Saturday? Goodbye, I’m going out to play!”
My favorite Shel Silverstein Poem. Me too, I'm going out to play. Enjoy the sunshine. See you at preschool graduation!
ReplyDeleteSaturdays are the best. No worries, just get it all done. Enjoy.
ReplyDeleteOn days that I have to go into the office, I like to stay in bed almost as long as possible before I get ready for work. On days that I work from home, I am usually out of bed earlier because I figure I can always catch a cat nap midday if need be.
